Custom domain
Put your whole Kuvi workspace on your own domain like app.yourcompany.com, fully branded with an automatic SSL certificate. How to connect it, verify DNS and sign in.
By default your workspace lives at a Kuvi address like yourcompany.kuvi.work. On the Business plan, or with the Custom Domain add-on, you can put it on a domain you own instead, for example app.yourcompany.com, fully branded and with an SSL certificate issued automatically.
Connect your domain
Open Settings → Custom domain (you need the manage organisation permission, which admins always have).
- Enter the domain you want to use, such as app.yourcompany.com. It must be a domain you own, not a kuvi.work address.
- Kuvi shows the exact DNS records to add at your domain provider (a CNAME for a sub-address like app.yourcompany.com, or an A record for a bare domain). It also detects your provider and gives you a direct link to the right page.
- Add those records at your DNS provider and come back. Kuvi checks automatically every few seconds.
- Once the records are found, Kuvi issues the SSL certificate and the status changes to Live and secured.
Signing in on your domain
Once it is live, your team uses your own address as their front door:
- Go directly to your domain (for example https://app.yourcompany.com) and sign in there. Bookmark it and share it with the team.
- Sign in with email and password on the custom domain. Google sign-in is not available on a custom domain.
Signing in at kuvi.work sends you to your yourcompany.kuvi.work address, not to your custom domain. To land on your custom domain, start at the custom domain itself. Your original kuvi.work address keeps working too, so no old link breaks.
Good to know
- The SSL certificate renews on its own. There is nothing to maintain.
- Your isolation and security are unchanged. The domain is just a nicer front door to the same private workspace.
- If your plan later stops covering the custom domain, Kuvi keeps it working through a short grace period, then reverts you to your kuvi.work address and emails an admin, so members are never locked out.
