Clocking in and out
How members clock in and out from the web, desktop and mobile apps, how office and remote modes work, and how Kuvi highlights weekly offs and holidays.
Every member records their working day by clocking in and out. It works the same on the web app, the desktop app and the mobile app, and it all rolls up into the attendance reports.
Clock in
Open Attendance (or use the Today card on your dashboard) and choose how you are working today:
- Office, checked against your company's office location.
- Remote, checked against your saved home location.
Then tap Clock in. Kuvi captures your location at that moment to verify where you clocked in.
Location is used to flag an off-site clock-in, never to block one. If you are outside the allowed radius you can still clock in; the day is simply marked so a manager can see it. See Set up geofenced attendance.
You can clock in once per day. The same record is shared across web, desktop and mobile, so clocking in on your phone and out on your laptop works fine.
Clock out
When you finish, open Attendance again and tap Clock out. Kuvi records the time, works out your hours for the day, and captures your clock-out location too. Right after clocking out you are invited to fill in your Day Log so your hours add up.
Late arrivals and half days
If you clock in after your start time plus the grace period set in Settings → Attendance, the day is marked Late. Short days can be marked as a half day. Both show up in the attendance reports.
Weekly offs and holidays
When you open Kuvi on a non-working day, a banner tells you clearly:
- Today is a weekly off, based on your company's working-days setup, or
- Today is a holiday, with the holiday name from your company calendar.
You are not expected to clock in on those days. If you do clock in and work, you are free to, your hours still count, and the day is recorded as day-off work with its reason. Managers can see day-off work distinctly in the attendance report and the Excel export, so it can be recognised for comp-off or extra pay as your company decides.
Weekly offs come from Settings → Attendance (working days) and holidays from your Holiday calendar. See Leave and holidays.
