Manage Products
Add your own SaaS or products as entities so internal project work and product revenue roll up by product.
While clients are the companies you do work for, products are the things your team builds. Add each of your own SaaS apps or products here, then tag product projects to them so internal effort and income roll up by product.
Add a product
- Open Products and click Add product.
- Give it a name (for example, "Kuvi").
- (Optional) Add a short code (like "KUVI") and a description.
- Leave the status as Active, or set it to Archived for products you've wound down.
- Click Add product.
Product names must be unique within your workspace.
What products are for
A product groups the work and money behind something you own:
- Roadmap and effort. Product-type projects tagged to a product show up on its detail page, so you can see how much internal investment a product is taking. This effort also feeds the Product side of your delivery and resource split.
- Revenue roll-up. Invoices billed against a product's projects, plus any product income you record, are combined per product in Revenue by Product and on the Product side of the Financial P&L.
Active and Archived
Use the Active / Archived / All tabs to focus the list. Archiving a product keeps all its history but moves it out of the way once you've stopped investing in it.
Why a product can't be deleted while it has projects
If any projects are tagged to a product, its delete button is disabled. Reassign or remove those projects first. This protects the revenue and effort history that rolls up to the product.
